Renovation of an old stone house in Ein Carem, Jerusalem.
The guidelines of this project were to simplify the plan and to open up the spaces of the house.
I did so by moving and removing internal walls, and by enlarging and moving openings.
This created an axis crossing the whole house.
Though not physically built, this axis gives a reference point, and allows views between all spaces
in the house.
I also enlarged the number of places in which people can stay together, by attaching the axis to
the walls. |
